Every so often, someone convinces me to get up at ridiculous o'clock to go and take photos in 4degree temperatures. And I never regret it.

Raided the piggy bank, placed coins on a piece of orange cardboard, used a bendy lamp light to create texture and shadows.
Handheld as I was experimenting with angles. Played with Hue and Saturation in Lightroom to make the orange look redder.
Comments: This was a late night practice shot to get some ideas on what might work when I did the 'proper' shot. But I haven't gotten around to doing it again so this will do or I'll never get to the end of the alphabet!

Light from a desk lamp. Camera on tripod. Operated through phone app.
Comments: It can be difficult getting the Styling and the Lighting to do exactly what you want. Which is fine if you don’t have to match a brief because you can just go with whatever works. I find Still LIfe setups either work straight away, effortlessly, or they take forever and frustrate the hell out of you. This one wasn’t coming together the way I wanted. Maybe I can blame working in a corner of the loungeroom with makeshift equipment? At one point a reflector fell on the set and broke a bit off one of the pomegranates. Anyway, it has a sort of painterly look that I like so I can live with it.

I’d like a much larger space to get a greater distance between the flowers and the backdrop and the camera and the flowers. I’d like to retain the depth of field to have the flowers in focus but the background dropped right out of focus. But I’m isolating in a two bedroom bunker (with two others) so I have to make do with what I have.
N is for Nearly a Nude shot. Now that I’ve got the phone and camera talking to each other it’s a lot easier to take a selfie. When Lockdown started I decided to take a selfie in every room of the house (except the littlest one). It’s a small two bedroom flat so there aren’t a lot of rooms. I had a few ideas for the bathroom but really wanted to see what the steam would do. I like the misty, soft focus effect, although once the lens steamed up it was like heavy fog! I liked the movement in the towel in this shot.
