Photo Walk - Prahran

The first Saturday of every month I’m hosting a photowalk, organised through Prahran Place Community Centre. If you’d like to join me, and take a walk with your camera, you can Book Here.

Each month I provide a new topic or theme for you to follow. We have a chat about it to get started. Then we go for a walk and take some photos, and then meet up for a coffee. It’s a great way to explore a new location, meet some new people, challenge yourself creatively and get some exercise too. There’s no pressure, it’s meant to be fun, not hard work!

Photography - Camera Essentials - Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO

Modern cameras do an amazing job, but they’re still just a machine, and they don’t think or see the way you do. Learn how to take control of your camera to get the creative outcome you desire, instead of letting a machine make all the decisions for you.

Learn about depth of field and stopping or showing movement as well as adjusting exposure for creative effect. Figure out when to use P, Av. Tv (or S) or go full Manual. And find out how ISO fits into all of that, as well as much more.

This course runs for 4 weeks with practical exercises to reinforce what you learn.

Currently on offer at Prahran Place.
Wednesday nights 6pm - 8pm. 8th to 29th October 2025 (4 weeks)

This course has been designed especially for women. Women of any age and any skill level. There’s no mansplaining or testosterone fuelled tech talk, just a safe space to explore creativity, self-expression and identity through photography.

In this 6-week course, participants are supported to develop their creative voice through guided photography projects that encourage reflection, experimentation, and confidence behind the camera. Together, we’ll create a safe and inspiring space to celebrate individuality and produce images that hold personal meaning and connection.

Photography - Light, Design and Composition: Master the art of Seeing

Great photography starts with learning to see. This 4 week course focuses on the creative heart of photography – how to work with light, design and composition to create compelling and visually appealing images.

Explore natural and artificial light, understand how composition guides the viewer’s eye, and learn how design elements can strengthen the impact of your photos. Through guided exercises, discussion, and image reviews, you’ll build confidence in making intentional, well-composed photographs that tell a story or evoke a mood.

For those who want to improve and refine their creative vision.

A basic understanding of camera settings is an advantage, but not essential.
If you’ve already got a good eye but you’re a bit technically challenged, you could look into my Camera Essentials course. Then again, maybe it would help you to know why or what is making your photos look good.

Currently on offer at Prahran Place.
Wednesday nights 6pm - 8pm. 5th to 26th November 2025 (4 weeks)
